There’s No Place Like Home is a photographic exploration of my childhood trauma through the current lens of my healing journey. This project is an immersive experience into my childhood, builds an understanding of how healing is not linear, and works to break down the stigma behind mental health. This project is an expression of self that I am using to help heal my inner child and process my feelings by sharing my journey.

The images are of my abandoned childhood home that my family was evicted from. It was also a place where we lived with my mother's abusive boyfriend. The house represents a significant time in my life where I had to grow up too young and the experience’s long-standing impact on my mental health. The physical damage of the house still being there represents how healing takes time and some scars last forever.
